Pupil Tasks: Division of Background

Expedition

Within the subjects of group C, pupils of both bachelor’s and master’s level programs at the Division of Background of the Professors of Arts of the University of Prague can select a specialist historic expedition (KHI/XE). Debt expeditions are long-lasting (from 5 days longer) and for the preparation of papers, their presentation during the trip or their later entry in written type (paper or essay) it is possible to obtain 3 credits.

The objective of these long-lasting trips is to obtain accustomed with a certain geographical area, or the web content of the adventures is related to a thematic unit or problem. An essential part of the trips is also the strengthening of mutual get in touches with in between pupils and educators of the department. Along with standard bus adventures, the division has also been organizing boat expeditions for several years. The division additionally organizes shorter sorts of adventures supplied by individual instructors to seminar participants or to all pupils.

Initial program (partial adjustments to the program reserved):

  1. Day (Saturday): early morning separation from Olomouc, stop en route in the village of Kumrovec (Tito’s indigenous town, outdoor museum, Tito’s suite ), early evening arrival on the island of Krk, over night stay in Njivice with morning meal near the sea (Aminess Gaia Environment-friendly Villas )
  2. Day 1 (Sunday): full-day trip to Pula (Roman amphitheater) + boat trip to the island of Veliki Brijun (Tito’s house), depending upon time schedule, additionally a stop in Rijeka (Tito’s private yacht – Galeb ), evening return to the island of Krk, over night remain with breakfast
  3. Day 1 (Monday): full-day boat trip to the island of Goli otok (prisoner-of-war camp for Tito’s opponents – urbex-style trip) afternoon go back to the island of Krk, totally free program, swimming in the sea, etc bed and breakfast
  4. Day (Tuesday): all-day bus transfer from the island of Krk to Trebinje (BiH), lunch break and swimming in the sea heading, Kravica waterfalls (swimming), arrival in Trebinje in the evening, over night remain in Trebinje
  5. Day 1 (Wednesday): full-day trip to Dubrovnik, over night remain in Trebinje
  6. Day 1 (Thursday): journey to Sutjeska National forest (memorial of the Fight of Sutjeska -1943 and Spomen-Dom Sutjeska ), community of Goražde (‘risk-free’ UN zone from 1992-1995, siege gallery ), overnight stay in Trebinje
  7. Day 1 (Friday): full-day trip to Montenegro (Kotor), over night remain in Trebinje
  8. Day (Saturday): specific cost-free program in Trebinje and its environments – rest, return at night (overnight remain on the bus)
  9. Day (Sunday): arrival in Olomouc in the morning

Transport: please note that this will be a bus tour with restricted capacity, little SETRA bus 36 seats

Holiday accommodation (apartments Aminess Gaia Eco-friendly Villas in Njivice, homes Vila Kosa) + 1 night on the bus on the way back from Trebinje (Bosnia and Herzegovina) to Olomouc

Price: 11,000 CZK ((consisting of transport by Setra bus, all accommodation (including three morning meals in Croatia ), entrance costs to galleries, national parks, and so on, traveling insurance – only for UP students and employees))

Credit reports: we ask students of the Department of History who intend to take part in the excursion to additionally register for the KHI/XE program (Specialized Historic Excursion – 3 credit scores) in the stag along with their registration.

Organizational meeting: a business meeting for all signed up pupils will happen at the end of April 2025, where the subjects of papers or composed essays will be dispersed

Background Students Guild

The association of volunteers from amongst students and graduates of the Department of History in Olomouc was founded in 2007. Its primary goal is to organize social, professional and gatherings for trainees of the Department of History, along with other interested parties. We organize the adhering to events: first-year graduation, specialist tests (Old, Biblical), student conferences, parlor game evenings, garden parties (end of the summertime semester)… All this assists to develop pleasant relations not only in between trainees of different years, yet also in between trainees, teachers and the management of the division.
